The Argentine brothers Enrique and Guillermo De Fazio – known as “Los Hermanos Macana” - are a legendary dance couple, famous worldwide for their breathtaking and witty tango interpretations.
The term “macana“ is Buenos Aires slang for “witty guy”, but also, “one who’s just got it” – which sums up “Los Hermanos Macana” perfectly: the pair are playful and comical but with an incredible technical brilliance. Bursting with ideas and energy, they are a unique couple – and not just because they are two men dancing the tango together. In fact, while their act might at first seem modern and novel, they consider themselves to be traditional tango dancers – referencing the very origins of the art form, when, at the beginning of the last century, Argentine men danced with each other for practice.
The Macana Brothers started dancing tango in the summer of 1995. They have been guided by masters such as Juan Carlos Copes, Eduardo Aquimbau, Gabriel Angió and Natalia Games, Mingo Pugliese and Raul Bravo, among many others
The duo have participated in the famous Spiegeltent “la clique” in Australia and Edimburgh 2006 Theatre National Challiot, 2007 Palais Royal Cour de Orleans,2008 Palais du congres
2004 they took part in the Plan B Tango, directed by Natalia Games and Gabriel Angió. They also made a special appearance in the film Assassination Tango with Robert Duvall2002,like actors/dancers Romeo and Juliet Tonelgropeamsterdam dirrecion Ola Mafalani 2004
Since 2002, the brothers have been touring around the US and Europe, doing shows and workshops as well as participating in various tango festivals. They have also participated in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and have featured in TV programmes in Argentina, Italy Germany Australia and USA.
In their classes they teach with a lot of humour and empathy - and of course with an eye for technical perfection. An absolute joy for their students.

Ballerino, attore e coreografo, i suoi esordi come ballerino di tango è iniziata nel 1995 all'età di 13 anni, la sua formazione artistica con grandi maestri di Tango Argentino
(Juan Carlos Copes, Eduardo Aquimbau,Gabriel Angiò e Natalia Games,tra gli altri), ha fatto parte di diversi spettacoli teatrali e televisivi.
Insieme a Guillermo De Fazio formano il duo Los Hermanos Macana (dei Fratelli Macana). giocoso e comico, ma con un incredibile brillantezza tecnica, una ballerino particolare, innovativo e unico dei nostri tempi, pieno di idee e di energia, si tratta di uomo che balla il tango.a trascorso tanti paesi nel mondo insegnando e ballando. Girano il mondo a colpi di “ocho” e “sacada”. Basta che arrivino loro ed è subito sold-out. Eppure, nonostante il successo, hanno i piedi ben piantati per terra. Nella vita sono i fratelli Enrique e Guillermo De Fazio. Sulla scena sono Los Hermanos Macana, a Roma per il Buenos Aires Tango Festival (in corso all’Auditorium) reso ancora più affascinante dal fatto che il “loro” tango è quello “embrionale”, delle origini, quando nella capitale argentina erano coppie formate da soli uomini a sfidarsi nei bordelli per mostrare ognuno la propria virilità. Una coppia insolita con alle spalle anche un’esperienza circense. «Beh, abbiamo lavorato allo Spiegeltent di Edimburgo. Samo stati a Las Vegas, a Melbourne con dei numeri acrobatici. Abbiamo fatto una parte in Romeo e Giulietta ballando il tango. L’importante per noi è portare il tango a tutti»», spiega Enrique, 27 anni, due in più del fratello-partner. Per non parlare del film di Francis Ford Coppola e Robert Duval... Guillermo: «Assassination tango! È venuto a trovarci Robert Duval a Buenos Aires. Non ci conosceva. Ci ha chiesto di fare una sorta di provino e...» Enrique: «Un’esperienza bellissima». È vero che vostra mamma Enriqueta vi suggeriva di ballare insieme per non dimenticare i passi? Enrique: «Sì, sì.
